Designed by Adelaide architect Eric McMichael, the 1940’s house is set on four acres and overlooks one of the most beautiful camellia gardens in Australia. The gardens have been recognised by the International Camellia Society as an International Camellia Garden of Excellence, one of only 3 in Australia and only 30 worldwide in 2012. It is also the home of the Camellia Society Adelaide Hills Inc. Manages Stangate House and hires out house and gardens for events Tours of the house and garden Camellia Society Adelaide Hills Inc volunteers grow and cultivate camellias and other plants in the garden Volunteers required for garden maintenance and customer liaison
